Sugar pie is very popular, but the original recipe in maple sirop pie.
Here's a delicious recipe...
1 cup milk
1/4 cup flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup real maple sirop
2 egg yolks
1 tablespoon butter
2 egg whites
a little salt
1/4 cup white sugar
Heat the milk. Mix flour and salt, add gently maple sirop. Pour warm milk
and bake in a bain-marie while stiring constantly. Add progressively
the 2 yolks previously warmed up with a little flour-sirop-milk mix.
Continue baking untill it's thick. Take off from heat and add butter.
Leave until the mix in cool, stiring once in a while. Pour in a baked
crust (8-9 inches). With the whites, salt and sugar, prepare a meringue.
Cover the pie with it. Bake at 325F until it is golden.
I hope you'll enjoy. Sorry for my bad english! Brigitte.
